T-21
ASSOCIATES PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
|
WHO
IS A T-21 ASSOCIATE?
It's someone who is
Educated / Experienced / Talented
in any Support Field provided by T-21 (for example: Marketing,
Grants, Word
Processing, Web Design, Graphic Arts, etc.); view the T-21 Site
Map from our Home Page
("T-21 Central" link) or other Main Pages, for an overview of services.
Selection of Associates depends
on References, Experience, Education, and/or
demonstration of Ability
in
their field of expertise. Prospective Associates, successfully
working as independents in their chosen field (even part-time), easily understand
T-21's work environment. However, many talented, hard-working people (in college, working
at home, or working elsewhere) can be T-21 Associates.
WORK
BASIS OF T-21 ASSOCIATES.
Associates work on schedules, suiting their needs and those of
T-21. Talented people, who already work full-time, may perform night, weekend, or holiday work,
while others may wish spend more of their time on T-21 assignments.
All Associates are
independent contractors - not employees of T-21.
All Associate work is
done as a sub-contractor to T-21 and is solely end-product
oriented. Working
relationships, assignments, work schedules, taxes, and payments will be in accordance with Internal
Revenue Service rules and regulations for independent, product-oriented
contractors (see link: http://www.irs.gov
for more information).
Every Associate
must be a legitimate entrepreneur or registered business - offering
/ performing services to others and responsible for all business
licenses, fees, registration, and taxes on income received.
The times when contracted work is performed by Associates and the
manner in which it is performed is solely determined by each Associate -
except that the end-product must meet agreed delivery timelines and
quality as specified in each project assignment.
No
Employer-Employee Relationship Shall
Exist Between T-21
and Associates.
THE
WORK PROCESS WITH T-21.
After completing research and planning for a proposed customer project,
T-21 Team Managers (TM's) review our Work Matrix for Associates,
having the required skills and background.
Qualified Associates are contacted to establish their interest
and availability. Some T-21 projects are fixed-sum contracts while others are on a per-hour basis.
Likewise,
T-21 Associates' compensation is either a fixed-sum for a job or a fixed rate per hour (usually with a 'cap').
T-21 and Associates agree upon specifications, remuneration and timelines, prior to the actual assignment, then a formal
Work Contract is completed between both parties.
IMPORTANT:
Once an Associate accepts a
Work Contract - timelines and remuneration are not
negotiable.
Failure to produce assignments correctly, completely, professionally, and punctually may result in withheld or reduced payments as well as
charges for damages. In this case, without reasonable, mitigating circumstances, such
Associates are also subject to dismissal from T-21's
Active Associate list.
WHAT'S
IT LIKE TO BE AN ASSOCIATE?
The words that best
describe it include: Varied,
Interesting, Challenging, Exciting, and
Worthwhile.
Some jobs are
single-function work, with only one or two people assigned; others integrate multiple, diverse talents into a
larger Team. If you work on a number of T-21 projects, you will probably be
a part of at least several Teams, made up of other Associates
with specific skills, different from your own.
An Associate can be located almost anywhere
(depending
on the work to be done), and may interface with other
Team Members in person or by telephone, E-Mail, Faxing, or Video Conferencing.
The
focus point of all work is the T-21 Team Manager (TM).*
Customers' main T-21 contacts are our TM's; all Associates
work under their direction and with their support. Our
TM's
interact directly with customers to:
(1) Define and
Document
Projects,
(2) Plan,
Schedule and Coordinate the Work of our
Teams,
(3) Communicate with
Customers,
(4) Provide Liaising Between
Customers and Their T-21 Teams,
(5) Deliver the completed
products to the Customers.
*
With this one point of
contact communication (TM to customer), projects are much easier
and more efficient for our customers and Team members.
COMPENSATION
OF T-21 ASSOCIATES.
T-21 compensates fairly, according to
work type, skill,
knowledge, experience, reliability, and productivity. For
work billed on an hourly basis - T-21 pays Associates
on a high 'percentage of billed amount' of the sub-contracted work
(usually 70%). For fixed-amount projects - payment amounts and
schedules will vary by task and
project, as dictated by the project contract with our customer, and are
documented before Associate acceptance and commencement of work. Compensation rates and schedule of
payment may vary, depending on individual customer contracts.
In every case, all compensation arrangements are fully documented with
our Associates prior to their acceptance of any work and before commencement of work.
T-21 also
has an incentive program for any Associate to bring in new
Customers or jobs.
MINIMAL
RISKS FOR ASSOCIATE SUB-CONTRACTORS.
T-21 is a Tier-1
Contractor that maintains a cadre of sub-contractors (Associates).
T-21
shares the proceeds of contracts with Associates, according to
their Work Contracts, wherein payments and schedules are
set-forth. If a customer does not pay due amounts, T-21
and the involved Associates shall share the loss proportionately.
This is a risk, borne by any contracting organization. If T-21 pursues legal action against a
client default, any net proceeds
are shared proportionately between T-21 and participating Associates, up
to the limits of the Work Contracts.
Risk of customer payment default is very
small, due to T-21's high
standards for work and ethics. It should not
be a major concern of Associates, but it is technically possible,
so we must warn of the possibility, in advance.
WORK
LOADS FOR ASSOCIATES.
They can be from light to heavy. Flexibility is required,
but T-21
always tries to accommodate Associates' time availability. A
formal
Work Contract is reviewed and agreed by and between T-21
and Associates in a project. It is the
responsibility of every Associate to only accept work that they can
complete in a
timely manner, with high quality. Once
project work is
assigned, products must be produced in accordance with the Work Contract.
