YOUR PART IN GRANT APPLICATIONS

Grant Application Success Requires You and
T-21's Professionals to Work as a Team.

Your Success in Receiving Grant Awards Depends on Four Important Factors:

     First - MAKING PLANS:

You must have a detailed, well-defined plan, including:  what you propose to do,  why it's important,  how it relates to the Grantor's objectives,  how you're going to accomplish your project,  a timeline, and  how much it will cost.   (Also, if the Grant is "seed money" - your Plan must show how it will be funded after the Grant period).

For example, if you want to build affordable housing for the elderly - you'll only succeed with a detailed Plan, including:  the Value to that group of people;  a Property Acquisition Plan; Criteria for Resident Qualification;  In-Kind Resources (contributions, assets); and  detailed Timelines and Cost Estimates.

     Second - GETTING ASSISTANCE:

You need access to professional Grant Assistance, as T-21 provides.   Our professionals have years of experience and their expertise will guide and assist you every step of the way.   T-21 Grant Specialists:

  • Gather information on your plans,

  • Research applicable grants,

  • Ensure that you meet Grant requirements (or help you qualify),

  • Assemble detailed data for Grant Applications,

  • Complete your Applications,

  • Assist you in Post-Application negotiations or problem resolutions,

  • Make Grantor follow-up contacts, monitor submissions, and find unallocated funds,

  • Assist in Post-Award Reporting.

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

     Third - MEETING DEADLINES:

Your T-21 Grant Specialist will help you develop a schedule for generating detailed data about your proposal.   You and T-21 must work together as a team.   Grant Awards result only from well-planned, high-quality, detailed Applications - backed by solid data.

Why?   Grantors want their money allocated for the purposes they specify in their RFP's (Requests For Proposals) and the recipient to efficiently and cost-effectively complete the project.   They can ensure this only with proper and complete information on you and your proposed project.

Common problems in Grant funding are:
  • Missing Grant Application deadlines and

  • Submission of poorly documented project proposals.   Yes, a Grant Application adds an additional workload - but, poor data will result in rejection.   If data is submitted late to your Grant Specialist, there is less time to generate a "winning" Application and costs increase, due to the extra steps required to maintain your eligibility, and the added costs of overtime-, holiday-, weekend-, or night-work.

Above all, remember that the payoff can be well worth the effort.   Your T-21 Team Manager informs you of looming deadlines and our Grant Specialists assemble the data in time to build the most cogent, comprehensive Grant Application possible.

.     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

     Fourth - PREPAREDNESS:

After your T-21 Grant Specialist has prepared your Application and you have submitted it, an agent of the Grantor may contact you (usually by telephone) for more information.   You must have detailed information about your project readily accessible and be knowledgeable about all aspects of it.   Your Grant Specialist can help you prepare for this process.
