Problem.
A local government agency
approached T-21 with a problem:
They had
extensive facilities, a large number of functions, and many visitors
each day. They explained that signage changes were frequent, due to changes in law, procedures, or other
factors. However, they found that locally made, custom signs were very
expensive. Additionally, they wanted professional looking, yet inexpensive,
custom signs for special hours, special events, holiday closing
announcements, etc. When they contacted us, the Administrator
asked us about producing
custom signs for each department in the agency, to direct and instruct
visitors.
Plan. Their Team
Manager (TM) devised a plan, having T-21 design and
print signage on our computers, enlarge them to the
desired size, and ship them to the agency in a mailing tube.
The
agency made wood frames, with clear plastic fronts, in standard sizes, for the
signs. When they received the enlarged, paper signs from us, they only had to
insert them into the frames, behind a plastic front cover.
Results. The
Administrator reported to her TM that they now communicate
the latest information to the many visitors to their
facility, without having a full-time Lobby
Director - a large cost savings. Most of the
agency's working units report less visitor confusion about what they need to know or do or where to go for an
agency service.
