can help non-American firms, both large and small,
communicate more effectively with an American audience.
Communicating effectively and accurately in
American English can be difficult if it's learned as a second or
alternate language.
Idiomatic differences, alone, can vastly affect communications.
Here's one
example:
LANGUAGE
EDITING.
Problem.
A representative of a successful Asian products manufacturer
contacted T-21 with a problem. Although he and many of his staff
had a limited command of English, their wording in User Manuals sometimes confused
American readers. He asked if we could help produce
manuals that were polished, professional, and ready for American audiences.
Action.
The T-21 Team Manager (TM) reviewed some of the company's current manuals and agreed that
we could help. An Editing Team was assembled and the company sent all product manuals to them.
After some initial questions were answered, the Team revised and
returned the manuals, ready for duplication.
Result.
A few months later, the company representative said that they received no complaints
after their revised manuals were released and that they were very pleased with them.
He said that, in the future, they would send every
new manual draft to T-21 for editing before publication.
Note:
T-21 also provides translation of several languages
into English.
