Problem.
A charitable organization maintains a Web Site to provide members with
information about their work, organizing
efforts, and fund-raising events. The Director contacted
T-21, saying, "We're short staffed, but still want to present
a very professional image. We've been embarrassed by a number of errors on our Web Site."
As an example,
she cited recent Web text that meant to say, "Our board members, management, and staff are
dedicated to provide job training job for mentally and physically handicapped people, who have no previous work
experience."
She sighed,
saying that she was mortified when a Board Member pointed out that it actually read, "Our board members,
management, and staff are mentally and physically handicapped people, who have no previous work
experience."
Action.
A T-21 Web Proofreading Team reviewed their existing Web content and all new entries, before
Web Site publication.
They found two errors in the current content (though none as dramatic as her
example) and
they were corrected quickly. Now, before each new posting,
a copy of the text to be published is e-Mailed to T-21
for proofing.
Results.
T-21's Proofreading services continue to prevent errors on the Web Site.
The Director told her T-21 TM, "Not one mistake,
since you started proofing it. We're so busy with our day-to-day tasks, sometimes we miss
little things that make us look bad. Since our budget is tight,
it's great that you all work only when we need it."
